Continuously receive "You're almost ready to watch this video: Upgrade your silverlight plugin"... I have upgraded, erased and re downloaded silverlight over ten times. I have tried to use different browsers (firefox, google chrome, safari).
PLEASE tell me what I need to do to start watching XFINITY again! This has been very frustrating and a big inconvenience. Does it just not work anymore with MACs?

It is true, Silverlight does not work with Mac 10.6.8 OS. I finally got a Mac user in Comcast Support and also at Netflix after many phone calls. They told me it does not and that there is talk of making something that will work. The same thing happened to me with Netflix. Silverlight was created by Microsoft. So do not expect any help in the near future. If you are streaming with OS 10.6.8 and above you are out of luck. iTunes streams fine.

It isn't working for me, either. I followed the instructions from Joe at Infinity, no results. Still will not play Xfinity shows.

Hi Joe,
I am a little late to this thread but am having this same problem in Firefox. In Safari the Silverlight plugin is recognized, but the black screen continually shows an animated "Starting Playback." In any case, here is

Do you have any anti-virus software installed?
Are you on a wired or wireless internet connection?
Thanks,

You still have an older version installed. Version 5.1.10516.0 is needed.
Are you uninstalling Silverlight before downloading and installing the patched version?
Thanks,

I had a similar problem- suddenly lost playback ability and kept getting a message saying I needed to install Microsoft Silverlight. I clicked the provided link but it wouldn't install until I removed the old version which I did and then clicked on the link to the "patched" version of Silverlight but still had the same problem.
I realized other sites weren't working because Flash wasn't working properly (Gmail, youtube...). Tried to install new version of Flash but that failed to install.
I then decided to do a System Restore because it seemed like a systemic problem that came up so quickly (all these sites were working earlier on my computer). Did a system restore to 2 days before and everything works fine.
I would try a restore and see if that helps at all.

I have installed and installed the Silverlight program as instructed from the website, and on this forum. I removed flash plugin and reinstalled that as well. I keep getting an issue with DRM support not enabled, error #525/6003. I have tried both IE and Chrome, neither works. Where to next?
Silverlight version: 5.1.10516.0
Flash plugin version: 11.5.502.146
