Looks like its coming...
Well that's good news, hopefully soon is actually soon and not 8 months from now... I have a Smart TV in the Living Room, Roku in the bedroom, and would love to be able to use this service. So c'mon Comcast, step up.

I have 2 Samsung Smart devices in my house that worked great with HGOGO and Directv. I had a Comcast salesperson sell me into leaving Direct and never mentioned Comcast didn't support Samsung Smart devices. The Comcast tech says it should work. He obviously doesn't know his....from his elbow! Comcast is taking their equipment out tomorrow.
05-11-2012 04:08 AM
yes once again comcast is behind just about everyone in suporting a new technoligy.honastly im supriced they even alow hbo go on there network there so gready.it realy dont suprise me they dont suport my samsung tv.only reason they are suporting the xbox is they have millions of users who would be calling them right now complaining, unfortunatly we dont have as many on smart samsung tv's...yeat. give it a year and everyone will have internet conected tvs then we will have a much stronger voice,or we should just all send them a nice letter explaining they dont suport our tv's for hbo so we are canceling our hbo subscritions and just download our shows like everyone elts is doing.

"HBO subscribers currently locked out of streaming HBO Go to their connected TV devices (namelySamsung HDTVs / Blu-ray players, Roku boxes and Xbox 360s) could be in for a treat soon, as our sources indicate Time Warner Cable is preparing to announce access for its customers on all three platforms tomorrow." -Engadget
Any eta Comcast?

Please add us access to Samsung Smart TVS HBO Go app. Its so frustrating. I larady know two friends that have left for Fios bc they got tired of waiting. I dont want fios. But Ill leave too if you can't make this happen soon. Its a shame that this access has not been given yet.

Another frustrated customer waiting for Comcast to approve HBOGO on my smart tv.
I paid premium to have Smart tv.. I pay a premium for HBO..
When will this service be available? I have read articles for this Samsung-Comcast partnership clear back to Jan 2011 with the announcements for activation only DAYS away..
Awfully long days
06-02-2012 09:03 AM
+1 to all of this. Still waiting...

When is Xfinity/Comcast going to support Samsung Smart TV HBOGO connectivity? All of Xfinity competitors already do...AT&T, BrightHouse, Charter, Cox, DirectTV, DISH, MEDIACOM, Optimun, RCN, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, VERIZON, and WOW all support HBOGO. What happened to Xfinity?.
What is the hold up? Verizon has just run FIOS in the neighborhood, sounds like a good reason to switch.
06-03-2012 12:16 PM
It is frustrating not to get HBO Go, a service we pay for. We are considering switching to Fios so that we can get HBO Go for our Samsung Smart TV.

End your subscription to HBO until they force Comcast to get with the program.... Or, switch over to ATT, which does support HBOGo.
06-04-2012 03:19 AM
We're in too. HBO Go is one of the most brilliant services in TV entertainment, and it is blocked on the main TVs in the house. The Xbox in one room has it, but for no good reason, the home theater which doesn't happen to have an Xbox can't access the app.
I have Xfinity TV and internet, so why am I blocked?
Support the app on Samsung Smart TVs Comcast. Please and Thanks.

I agree, this is extremely frustrating. What happened to the 100% satisfaction pledge they drive you crazy with?
06-11-2012 07:12 PM
The fios experience is far superior.
06-15-2012 01:02 PM
Cox and Brighthouse support HBO Go on Samsung Smart TV via the app. Comcast is owned by the same parent company so why doesn't Comcast support HBO Go on Samsung Smart TV HBOGo app?
06-19-2012 06:18 PM
Yeah, I'm in the same boat as well. I finally broke down and signed up for HBO through Comcast thinking I'd be able to use the HBOgo app on my new Samsung LED TV. Nope, that would be too easy. Looks like just about every other cable provider allows this except Comcast. Surprise, surprise.
You'd think with as much as we're paying for our cable bills they would get with the program and quit taking a dump on their customers. I, for one, am highly considering dropping Comcast all-together and going with Hulu+ if they don't get this problem fixed soon.
Anyone have a work-around?
06-22-2012 05:13 AM
I do not understand why a representative of Comcast does not comment on the complaints/concerns voiced in this forum. When reading other forums "Joe Comcast" responds with a reply of some type.
I truly resent handing over my money to a service provider every month and then being ignored when I have a valid question regarding that service!
This is a simple question...is Comcast going to allow Samsung Smart tv's access to HBOGO or not?
This is ridiculous, so many other carriers have allowed access.
Is Comcast in a relationship with XBOX? Are they trying to force sales of XBOX ? I do not have, nor do I want an XBOX.
So Joe Comcast, what do you say?

I am sorry, I thought have posted earlier in the thread but I did not.
We are evaluating our options on all platforms. This is a constant research effort based on market conditions, customer responses, and technology changes.
There is no specific news regarding Samsung Smart TVs as of now but I will update this thread when any news becomes available.
Thanks,

To Joe from Comcast:
I do not want to sound very arrogant but one of the selling points from a salesman was that i could stream xfinity TV series video to my Samsung Smart TV. I bought this TV 3 weeks ago and I was bitterly disappointed to find that there was no way currently of doing this. My research has found that this capability was announced by your Comcast People and Samsung at the CES show in January 2011.You are misleading current comcast subscribers and also potential Samsung TV buyers. I am currently looking at other options including changing ISP's. Comcast is doing a great disservice to its loyal customers.
Please listen to your customers for once and deliver the announced product!!
06-24-2012 09:48 PM
Couldn't agree more. We purchased a brand new Samsung 55 inch LED Smart TV looking forward to this feature and we are really ticked off about it! We've put $3k into this new entertainment system and expect to be able to use it as it was intended. We have been customers for 5 years and expect better for the amount our services cost with Comcast. We are currently exploring options with DIRECTV as they do not block HBOGO from Samsung Smart TVs. Get it together Con-cast!
06-25-2012 06:34 PM
ugh - Just tried this ... couldnt believe Comcast is the only provider that seems to not support this. Checking directTv prices now.
06-25-2012 07:22 PM
I think that Comcast is not allowing HBOGO access on Samsung Smart TVs due to the fact that they haven't reached an agreement to implement their XFINITY TV app in Samsung Smart TVs.
It's the "My app is not on their with yours? Well... We won't give my customers access to your app." routine.
Silly, Childish, and any other synonym you can think of for this guerrilla buisness tactic.
So my words to Samsung. "Give them a deal, will ya?"
So we can finally NOT download the XFINITY TV app and watch HBOGO on our fantastic Samsung Smart LEDs.
07-14-2012 01:30 PM
We ar enow at the point of reviewing DirecTV as HBOGO is a must for us.
We're paying enough for this - we should receive it. I wish Comcast would state the real reason why they are not implementing HBOGO.
07-18-2012 09:23 PM
07-19-2012 11:56 AM
I am with everyone else. Let's get this service to the customers ASAP, before there is mass exodus. When can Comcast/Xfinity be a leader and not a follower. Make the customer happy and we will feel better about giving you so much money every month.
07-19-2012 10:07 PM
so, comcast says they offer hbo go, how do i get to work with my samsung tv, if i have no option to select comcast? from a list of providers???
07-19-2012 10:36 PM - edited 07-19-2012 10:46 PM
Hello,
Do you meet the following requirements
To watch, you will need:
If so what kind of error message are you getting when you try to watch hbogo online? Have you setup a seperate username for hbogo with your comcast email address.
07-24-2012 11:05 AM
It's ridiculous that HBO Go works on both my Smart Phone and iPad, but not our Samsung Smart TV. I'll be switching back to DirecTV. Free Sunday Ticket, Free HD for Life. Now they have Tivos too. Nothing really keeping me on Comcast.
07-30-2012 09:58 PM
What a JOKE . . . . I will be so happy to leave these guys - boycott COMCAST. They do not deserve to have our business.....
07-30-2012 11:56 PM
wow I can't believe comcast is so far behind than everyone else. almost all other providers support hbogo and yet comcast is still thinking whether they want to support hbo go or not. I would've been much happier if I was with other providers who do support HBOGO. Comcast how long are you guys going to have us wait?
08-03-2012 01:01 AM
I am dropping hbo. Have dropped Comcast cable tv and encourage others to do same. Basically Comcast wants u to use their cable tv for hbo and so blocks samsung hbo via any competitor like dish.
Nonetheless you paid for the hbo therefore Comcast is screwing you out of pure self interest.
08-09-2012 06:28 AM
Why does this not surprise me? Comcast has been screwing it's customers ever since they've been in bussiness so why not here too? Well, I guess I will just have to use my laptops HDMI or my LG Esteem's HDMI cable and connect them to my Samsung TV and go that route. I'll be downsizing all my Comcast services untill FIOS makes it to my area.
08-11-2012 09:59 PM
I'M ALSO A SUBSCRIBER AND I HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED B/C HBO HAS REALLY STARTED LIMITING CONTENT AVAILABLE ON DEMAND. I CAN NO LONGER WATCH SEX AND THE CITY ON DEMAND. THEN I REALIZED EVERY EPISODE WAS AVAILABLE ON HBO GO! I HAVE A SAMSUNG SMART TV AND I JUST NOTICED WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN SAYING! I CAN NOT SELECT COMCAST AS A PROVIDER THAT PARTICIPATES. THIS IS MAKES ME VERY FRUSTRATED! I PAY FOR HBO AND I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON SMART TV, WHICH I CAN NOT UTILIZE! I KNEW IT SOUNDED TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! IT'S AUGUST! WHY HASN'T AN APP BEEN MADE! I'M REALLY GETTING SICK OF COMCAST AND MAY CANCEL SOON!
08-11-2012 10:51 PM
Xfinity,
Where is the support for HBO GO on Roku and Samsung TVs? It's been too long now. We pay for HBO and the ungodly costs you charge for services, we should be able to watch HBO as its provided on any device since we pay for that service.
I think its about time for the FCC to get involved and a class action lawsuit to be started. You are not provided the services that we pay already pay for.
08-11-2012 11:13 PM
August 11th and still nothing . . . . Comcast does not deserve our business. This is the stuff that makes one understand the power of monopolies / oligopolies and why we should not give corporation the same rights as "persons" .

Here is the direct contact form for the senior VP of digital platforms at Comcast.
Twitter : @Matt_CIM
Contacting lower level support reps is next to worthless. This comcast exec has a blog and is open to communicating with customers.Contacting him is our best chance to changethis policy. Email him (to the point ,yet well though out) letters explaining our frustration and maybe it will make a difference. If you get a response, POST it here.
UPDATE:
Somone contacted Matt on twitter, he responded saying that Comcast is targeting Q1 2013 for HBO go on Samsung tv's. there is our answer
08-20-2012 05:19 PM
That's honestly just simply not good enough. After spending $1,000 on a new 46" Samsung TV and paying $120/month for my TV/Internet package, it's insane that this isn't available. I do have an Xbox360 which is supported by Comcast, but I don't want to pay the $60 for another subscription at the moment.
08-22-2012 08:58 PM
This is unbelievable. I also just got a new Samsung smart tv and was looking forward to using this app, mainly because the Comcast on demand lineup SUCKS. Comcast removes removes the TV episodes as soon as the season is over for HBO on demand. I have not been able to finish watching Treme for this reason. So aggravating.
08-29-2012 01:50 AM
So, once Comcast supports Samsung smart TVs, will it only work if I have an Xfinity box? We have a Tivo in that room.
08-29-2012 04:12 AM
Really? "Targeting Q12013?" How nice... Lets see there are 4 more months in 2012, worse case scenario for Q1, is bottom of April 2013, that's another 4 months, for a total of 8 more months, Whoopee.
I bought this set in 12, 2011 , with the sales pitch " pay $400.00 additional for the Smart feature and you will have access to HBOGo from your provider Comcast" .
For me that is 16 months waiting for a feature that was touted by Samsung, the sales rep and I assumed Comcast when I purchased the tv
Do I have any faith that Comcast will iron out whatever the hold up is by April?
Nope not a bit.
Do I think Comcast gives a rip?
Nope again.
Samsung has their sale
they don't care,
the salesman has his commission,
he doesnt care.
I am still a faithful Comcast customer
(Darn Game of Thrones) Im addicted....
it appears that I am the only one who does care.
PS :
I wonder what the sales pitch for new sets this Xmas will be?
PS PS:
Purchased two more sets this year to upgrade bedroom and family room,
Think Vizio....Sorry Samsung
Dont even think I purchased at the same store as i did the Samsung
Sorry sales dude
And if there was ANY viable provider it would be sorry Comcast also........
08-31-2012 07:14 PM
Dear Comcast,
Please support HBO Go on Samsung TV's ASAP. Q1 2013 is 4-7 months away still, and I have serious doubts on that timeframe. I'm very tempted to switch to DirecTV after my bill went up 64%. I just wish RCN or U-Verse were available here as I'm not a big fan of sattelite. All of which, by the way, support HBO Go on Samsung TV's and have cheaper cable packages.
08-31-2012 08:11 PM
it's called a class action lawsuit. I'm ready. Are any of you?
09-01-2012 10:28 AM
I dont "do" twitter. I waste enough of my time on the computer.
Who is somebody?
Why doesnt this mid level exec respond to this forum himself?
The only one I know of who has taken the time to respond to this forum is "Joe Comcast", and that is only after a complaint that no from Comcast responded to this forum.
09-11-2012 08:12 PM
Still waiting for Comcast to give its subscribers access to HBO Go! Why the delay?
09-20-2012 01:10 AM
whats the hold-up!? I get HBO GO provided on all other devices BUT my Samsung 55inch SmartTV!! Im going to switch providers if this doesnt change!
09-21-2012 04:40 PM
It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that I can access HBO GO on my computer, I can also access thru the TV with an old ROKU box but God Forbid I want to access it thru my Samsung Smart TV and the geniuses at Comcast say NO. I am done.
I am tired of the nonsense with them. For the nearly $200 a month I pay for average broadband service, a worthless landline and a circa 1999 Graphical User Interface on the cable set top box you would at least think Comcast would throw me a bone and allow me to use the HBO subscription I PAY FOR in any manner I choose. If they dont get this resolved by this October and am leaving them completely after almost 20 years.
Buh Bye CEO BRIAN ROBERTS
09-24-2012 04:30 PM
Why would Comcast not make this available - it looks like AT&T makes more sense now.
