Silverlight telling me to upgrade

I keep getting the error message to upgrade Silverlight and my silverlight is upgraded. I am using Google Chrome, so it is not the 64-bit compatibility problem.

Hello,

Try completely delete the software and choose the show that you want to watch and reinstall it that way.

Completely uninstall Silverlight from your computer. Then download and install Silverlight from the appropriate link below:

Windows users

Follow all the on-screen instructions and then try playing videos again. Let me know the results.

The above steps did not work for you?

If it didn't, please go to www.xfinitytv.com/computer and copy the information you see on-screen and paste it in this thread so we can further assist you.

Also, please send the URLs of the videos that you are trying to watch.

Thanks,

Re: Silverlight telling me to upgrade

Ok. Tried again and now it streams, however the audio is lagging the video by about 0.5 seconds. For all videos.

Same videos stream fine on my nexus 7 tablet via android app.

PC has lots of spare resources.

Try using a different web browser and let me know if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

Re: Silverlight telling me to upgrade

I can't watch videos on Linux (Mint) or Windows 7.  Why even bother with Silverlight?  Silverlight sucks.  There's other ways to enforce Digital Rights Management.

HTML5, welcome to the future.

Will try a different browser tonight, however my original problem was worse in IE.

Re: Silverlight telling me to upgrade

IE won't even work. Says IE8 is not supported? Even though it doesn't come up in the 'not officially supported' list.

"Xfinity Video Player Upgrade

Upgrade your Xfinity Player!

In order to watch On Demand Online videos with "HD-Like" picture quality, you need to install the new Xfinity Player

We're sorry, but for watching On Demand Online videos the following browsers are NOTofficially supported at this time:

  • Windows XP: Safari 3/4
  • Windows Vista: IE 6, Safari 3/4
  • Windows 7: IE 6/7, Safari 3/4
  • Mac OS 10.4.11+: IE 6/7/8, Chrome 4"

Chrome still lagging audio sporadically.

Try using IE 32-bit version and not 64-bit.

littlebit123: The issue is with Firefox. Try uninstalling then reinstalling Firefox again and let me know the results.
