XFINITY TV ONLINE NOT WORKING

I've read multiple posts about people's xfinity tv online not working and I've dont every single thread of advice given. I've tried using google chrome, safari and firefox, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Silverlight multiple times and nothing plays. I get to the screen and its a blank gray screen with descending circles, no loading sign, nothing. I've been attempting to solve the problem for a week and nothing is working and I'm not happy. I even tried using my tv streampix to watch The office and other shows and it kept saying "request failed" or just freezing and forcing me to stop.

so you cant watch on your tv or the computer, you should have a tech come out to troubleshoot this.   do you have pixelation and audio drop outs when watching tv also?  these are all signal related issues which could be the problem.

 

Troubleshooting computer issues are very difficult, everyone has different computers with different software, different browers etc.   A recent report shows that over 80% of americans have a virus or spyware on their computer they are unaware of.   All these things can contribute to services like xfinitytv not working. 

 

I will tell you the service works and works fine, remember only those who cant get it to work will post here.

Seems like it's Flash videos that are not working for you.

 

Chrome has Flash built in but for your other browsers, completely remove your Flash Player from your computer and then go here to install it again:

 

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Joe, 

I uninstalled every adobe program in my computer then clicked your link and installed it, didn't seem to do anything because not a single browser worked still. I then uninstalled firefox and installed firefox 18.0.02 but i still have a blank screen when trying to play, same exact thing still for chrome. I also redownloaded safari 5.1.7 and it says this again:

It seems like you computer is blocking your browsers from loading plug-ins. Do you have any anti-virus software installed?

can somebody from comcast please submit a solution to this issue?  I have exact same behavior.  Black screen with descending circles.  I have reinstalled flash, silverlight, etc. and no resolution.  I used to be able to watch videos with my browser on my laptop.  I've been spinning on this now for hours trying to resolve.

You can also turn the whole thing off, test a video, and then turn it back on. If the video works while it is off, then we know the conflict is between Flash and Norton.

made no difference. that is, disabling Norton made no difference.  I still am unable to watch any videos on xfinity tv online.  in any browser.  this used to work.

Try completely uninstalling your Flash Player and then go here to download and install it again. Hopefully, this uninstall will clear any corrupt files.

Ok, here is an update.  

I've uninstalled flash, and then tried with my Chrome browser.  As Chrome comes with Flash player built in, I just re-enabled flash in Chrome and then tried to watch a video on Xfinity TV.  Still unable to watch any videos.  I goto another site (hulu) with flash videos, and I am able to watch flash videos. 

 

Okay, so now I try IE and navigate to hulu and watch a video.  States that I need flash player to watch video and this is expected.  So I now go back and install the flash player you suggest in previous post.  Installed, retry IE at hulu -> success.  Retry IE at Xfinity -> failure.  

 

We've ruled out anti-virus software, we've ruled out versions of Flash player and Silverlight.  

Again, my environment is x64 Intel i5-2467 running WIndows 7 Home Premium.  

 

Is there any solution to this problem?  Really seems like the problem is at the Xfinity site, especially since many users have been complaining.  Can we elevate this issue to critical?  I pay $180 / month to comcast.  I'd like this problem resolved.

Do you get the same exact issue (black screen) when using both Chrome and IE?

Yes.  Browser does not affect behavior (IE, chrome, Firefox, haven't tried Safari).

Xfinity TV Online is not working on my Mac Pro using 10.7.5 operating system. I subscribe to almost all the premium channels and I am unable to connect online to any of them. The only online tv programs I am able to access are the ones run by Hulu. HELP. I have put in a technical service call two days ago and no one has called me back.

What happens when you try to play a premium channel on XFINITY.com/tv? What error message are you getting?

For example, when trying to watch an HBO show, the advertisement comes on, the HBO logo comes on, then when it tries to access the program, the screen goes blank. Other times, I occasionally get a 900/3307 error, saying to refresh my browers (which never works)

I know I read "blank gray screen with descending circles, no loading sign, nothing" but do these circles have no working at all like "Obtaining Authorization" or "Starting Playback"?

In my case, the screen is completely black (no image, no message). And, like I stated in an earlier posting, occasionally an error 900/3307 appears and says I need to refresh my browser (which never works)

I am having the same issue as most here (just blank grey screen no loading).  Xfinity TV actually works on my old lousy computer (but the fan is broken so I can't play videos for long before it overheats).  On my nice new computer it stopped working the last time I updated Silverlight which was months ago.  I couldn't find anything in any other threads so I just gave up and have been using netflix exclusively.  But I have been trying to follow several new shows and would love to get this working again.

 

I have also updated adobe flash, silverlight, no plugins are being blocked.  It seems like quit ea few people are having this problem.  Xfinity Streampix used to work on that computer then one day I had to update silverlight and it never worked since.

As of two days ago (with NO assistance from Comcast) I downloaded the Google Chrome software and SUCCESS! I can watch TV online with Google Chrome, but not Safari or Firefox, whereas a couple months ago, I was able to use either browser. I thank the Comcast customers that have contributed to this Forum, which gave me the idea to try a different browser. I hope this suggestion helps some of you that are still having problems. This certainly is not a solution, but it is a go around until Xfinity corrects the problem. It so unfortunate that as customers, we have been given the runaround, wasting our time, reinstalling Silverlight about a zillion times with no success, instead of being honest and admitting they have major problems on their end.

Unfortunately I already use Chrome.  So no luck for me.  Glad you got yours fixed.  I feel like hte xfinity site is probably just not the most up to date software.  I used to have similar issues with the free antivirus software provided by comcast not being compatible with newer computers or versions of windows....not sure.

:smileysad:  It's lousy because I almost never actually watch television.  This was one of the features I actually liked about comcast tv.  Thinking of getting rid of it though its not much cheaper to have just the internet...

My xfinity online tv has not for over 16 months.

According to Stormy Jones in Comcast repair, the problem is a softwareissue that is entirely the fault and flaw of Comcast.

A"fix" was supposed to be applied region by region by never was.

My Xfinity Online Tv has not worked in over 16 months.

If you are truly with Comcast then you know it is a Comcast software issue that has nothing to do with anyone''s computer and is totally a Comcast flaw.

When will the repair fix be applied as it was supposed to be starting June 30th 2013?

I still don't have the fix.

i came to the forums 3 months ago with lagging issues,constant commercials...all of a sudden no problems with comcast. it seem to be resolved....now i can't get past the parental control screen.it just freezes there-absolutely nothing. as before, no issues anywhere else...amazon,nbc,abc,hulu,netflix etc....i went through all the un-install / re-install bunk then too...nothing helped. it seems they eventually fix the issue,however, our payment for this service need to be paid on time monthly.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I GET AND HAVE BEEN GETTING FOR 16 MONTHS +++ NOW.

COMCAST REFUSES TO FIX THE ISSUE.

THEY ARE LITERALLY BANKING ON CUSTOMERS NOT ORGANIZING.

IF WE ALL STOP PAYING OUR BILLS MAYBE THEY WILL FINALLY APPLY THE FIX AND STOP THE LYING.

Same problem. I call Comcast, they say it's my computer's fault and then two days later it works, then a week later it doesn't work, then starts working again. Frustrating to call Comcast as they go through a script of the same things that don't help, then blame the browser or anything else not related to Comcast, but from my experience I believe it is something with Comcast.

Sorry to say nothing has changed.

Same old responses from Comcast.

No fix. Same problems.

Now the Fan videos don't work. At least Comcast rep said it was their problem. She also said she would call back in 24 hours with an update. That was 2 weeks+++ ago.

No call. Fan videos still don't work. Xfinity online TV does not work.

Funny how Utube and all other but Comcast videos work.

I give up.

Comcast just does not care.

I have exactly the same issue, I tried everything that the page recommend, re-installed flash, using IE9, FireFox, chrome and coming up the same error

THE PROBLEM IS A COMCAST SOFTWARE ISSUE WITH A FIX THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE APPLIED REGION BY REGION OVER A YEAR AGO AND MY XFINITY TV ONLINE STILL DOES NOT WORK.

I HAVE THE DIRECT REPAIR # AND A "CONTACT" IN THE DEPT WHO HAS RECENTLY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO DATE SET FOR THE "FIX" TO BE APPLIED TO MY REGION.

I STRONGLY SUSPECT YOU HAVE SOME CONNECTION TO COMCAST FOR YOU ARE AN UNABASHED LIAR AS ARE MANY OF THE COMCAST TECHS.
