Error 6036 everywhere-- what is the solution - have 64 bit computer - tries to install safari no good... This is pathetic...
02-25-2012 12:15 PM
ALSO -- it is not always us with device driver issues, etc--- it is more than likey you and your changes that are not managed correctly...
Why not modify your error pages to return valuable information instead of posting here and wasting a day of life looking for your information that you post in random locations -- usually incorrect information at that...
02-25-2012 12:16 PM
and tried it further in 32 bit IE 8 -- nothing...
02-25-2012 12:36 PM

Hi all,
We recently have seen an increase in Error 6036 when trying to play a video. If you are trying to watch a video from your PC or Mac and you are receiving this error message, try uninstalling then re-installing Microsoft Silverlight. Go here for step-by-step instructions:
http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/help/technical-suppor
If you followed the steps above and you are receiving the same error message, you must install an update for your video driver. Here is how to do it:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7:
2. Click "Hardware and Sound" from the menu.
3. Click on the "Device Manager" icon from the menu.
4. Click on your graphics card icon from the menu on the left side of the Device Manager window.
5. Click the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window that appears. The window should have a prompt saying "The drivers for this device are up to date."
6. Click the "Update Driver" icon on the window if the drivers are out of date. Wait for the drivers to install on the system.
7. Click the "Restart" button when prompted. When the computer restarts, the drivers will be up to date.
Mac OS X:
2. On the "Apple" menu, click "Software Update."
3. If there is a Mac OS X update available, you can install it. If there is a graphics driver update, it will be included in the Mac OS X update.
Please let me know of your results or if you are still having issues.
Thanks,
Joe

Having same problem as boristheblade... I have tried all major browsers... reinstalled silverlight... checked drivers... still have had no luck... the problem does not appear to be on the client end... its also not private mode or incognito mode [if you have that ability in your browser]... its almost as if your site is timing out... I get past the point of obtaining authorization... but once we get to starting playback... it just hangs there for a minute... and then we get the error... "

I've done every thing as stated and I'm still haveing the same problem, however I'm confused about these instructions
4. Click on your graphics card icon from the menu on the left side of the Device Manager window.
5. Click the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window that appears. The window should have a prompt saying "The drivers for this device are up to date."
I have windows vista and can not find a graphics card icon!!!! Please help, or just go back to the way it was before I had no problems last week. I follow the logic of, If it's not broke don't fix it; thanks for you time and please help me reslove this issue...

Billy787,
Go to this link for more detailed instructions for Windows Vista:
http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/graphics/updatevis
boristheblade/cmhernandez03/BorisAirWolf, you all have updated or have to most up to date graphics card drivers installed and videos still are not working. What is your graphics card? What driver version is installed? Any additional details would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Joe:
I am not going to give you that information.
I have seen other users give you that exact information.
WHERE YOU HAVE TOLD THEM TO EITHER INSTALL SILVERLIGHT.. update their driver... AND THAT DOES NOT WORK FOR THEM. It has clearly not worked for them for either 4 days .. or even 7 days!
You need to fix whatever it us on your end.
This is not a user error.
