Any Play Questions

Does anyone have the Anyplay Service offered via Comcast? I recieved an email stating the service is now in my market (34974).

I am interested in monthly costs and does it work smoothly? Pros and Cons please!

Re: Any Play Questions

There are some of the early area's that were not charging a monthly fee.  Chicago where I am is charging $10 a month for AnyPlay.  It was 9.95 for the SIK to be shipped, postings by Comcast Employees here state check a Verizon Wireless store and they could be available there, which I will check into later.  There might also be a $5 account change order.

It works very well, I'm using a Ipad.  You can have up to 10 devices registered, but only one video stream at a time, the AnyPlay box has just one tuner.

I did have trouble getting the AnyPlay box activated on the web.

Since all the TV is still MPEG2, it transcodes everything to MPEG4 on the fly, so there is a couple second delay with live TV.  The HD picture is perfect, you can really tell the downgraded SD channels on the IPAD when tuned to SD

An overview on AnyPlay is available at the link below. AnyPlay is not available in all areas.
