Cisco RNG 100 - Setup problem labeled "Guardian"

Hey guys. I just got my Comcast tv box today. I set everything up and power on the box and I get a screen title "Guardian." it says the firmware on the box is old and I need to wait 20 minutes for it to update. it's been an hour already. Any ideas?

Is this a self install kit?

 

What Comcast services do or did you have before adding this digital box?

Yes, this is a self-install kit. I had comcast internet cable before this. Here are some pictures I've taken

 

I press the power button and I get the Cisco screen

From here, I waited for an hour and nothing happens. So I press the power button again and...

this happens. It's stays on this screen until 30 minutes and it'll turn itself off.

You may have a filter on your line that a tech will have to remove.

HSI only or HSI & limited basic most times have a trap on the drop to block channels you were not supposed to receive.  Because you are adding digital cable, that trap needs to be removed.

 

You will have to contact Comcast support, and they need to send out a tech to physically remove that trap on your drop.  That will get your box authorized and working.
