Comcast DVR DCT 3412 120GB disc
Dear Comcast:
Why do you disable the USB and SATA ports? This is 2011 and the age of HD. Why do you not allow your customers to hang a 1-2 TB disk from these ports? HD recording eats up 120GB in no time.
Guess I don’t understand why Comcast is scared to enable this option? Surely this can be accomplished with a simple firmware tweak.
Customers pay quite a bit for the option of renting a DVR, why now allow us to truly use it? This is the TB age.
Thank you for your time.

This is a customer to customer forum so you are not talking to comcast. There are other motoroloa dvr's have have bigger hard drives. The new multiroom one has a 500gb drive. Those ports have always been disabled since I have had that box. Maybe when the new stuff starts coming out with larger drives and new guide that will be enabled. It use to work on the SA cisco boxes though.
