To start, I had my cable box and TV on and I could see a picture on the screen that said activate service. I went through the online activation process and waited over 45 minutes. During this time, only the amber data light was on on my HD cable box and it stayed on well after the 45 minutes were up. I could not power the cable box on or get any other lights to go on. I tried unplugged and plugging the cable box back in and all of the lights flash on but then it powers off and the same amber data light comes on after a while. I called Comcast support and the tech support guy sent a signal to my cable box and made all of the lights flash so it was receiving the signal, but then it goes right back to the amber data light again. The support guy set me up with a service appointment for next Monday. Is there anything else I can try in the meantime? I'm not in the business of donating money to Comcast for a service that doesn't work for over a week. It's extremely ironic that I had to call and now I have to wait for customer service after following the at-home setup kit exactly as stated.
