XfinityTV and Equipment

I'm using a DCX3400 DVR provided by Comcast with a 46" Sony Bravia HDTV in my bedroom and cannot find any reference to CC on the Comcast menu.  I have the same setup in my living room and I was, at some point, able to activate the CC.  I'm almost positive that I was able to activate it using the Comcast system but cannot remember how I did it and can't find any instructions online.  I just contacted a tech through Comcast 'Chat' but the person I was speaking with wasn't very clear with the instructions she provided.  Very frustrating...can anyone help?

Turn off the DVR with the remote and hit the "Menu" button to bring up the display for toggling CC on or off.

Thank you WarEagle1957 for helping me also figure out the closed caption menu. from a fellow Tiger! Small world.

I am now intrigued by this menu you have pointed out. my questions are about the Audio Output and the 4:3 override options... can you briefly tell me what those are? anything else I should be aware of in this menu?
(i have a JVC 42" LED Black Crystal HiDef TV, connected with HDMI and optical sound cable to my receiver)

Am new to Comcast and I found this forum. I see where others have been seeking the CC feature and I see the answer, but I have no idea how to turn off the DVR with the remote so I can hit menu to bring up the display for toggling the CC on or off. Thanks!
