Re: 1080 vs. 720

Shame comcast does not broadcast in 1080p- I have a 1080p HD SMTV 3D 55" in living room all and 2 bedrooms r 1080p and then 2 720p so I get 720p or 1080i which is really no difference at all if not by much, When I had directv all was Popup the picture blew u away unbelievable so I spent 1500$ on a Tv to get IPPP res, Comcast gotta stop adding on so many other products so they can stop filtering there product only to IPPP I would like the 1080p but with the home security now taking much need signal from TV. And higher internet speeds, and phone, now streampix are we ever going to see the best picture I payed a lot of money to receive. When will comcast offer 1080p, every TV except to r 720p so I would love to see 1080so I get what I pay for..Comcast I like but need to take that filter of to give us the best picture I paid mightily for...

Re: 1080 vs. 720

directv only has on demand movies in 1080p not traditional broadcasts.    comcast like all other providers only pass on the sigal to you, no networks broadcast in 1080p.     There is no filter as you say.

from directv'[s site.

To get access to the most 1080p titles, connect your receiver to the Internet. Learn how. Once you're connected, tune to channel 1100, where you'll see a list containing all of the DIRECTV on DEMAND movies available in 1080p. Take your pick and enjoy.

If your receiver is not connected to the Internet, you'll still be able to enjoy some movies in 1080p. To access the titles available to you, press the List button on your remote, then press the GREEN button to see Top Movies Now.
