Remote Control Fast Forward

When I use fast forward to go through commercials and then hit the play button it jumps back approximately 15 seconds from where I actually stopped the fast forward.  Is there a way to disable that.  It's not a good feature for sports.

Re: Remote Control Fast Forward

nope sorry, that feature was added about a year ago to my system, it was put in for those who could not stop the ff in time.   Here is what I do try this and it will become second nature.  When you FF and see the show again wait a second or two and then hit play, the dvr will rewind it right to where the show starts, it takes a little practice but im pretty good at it now.

Re: Remote Control Fast Forward

Thanks, I've actually got that part down and like it for normal shows, but I don't like it for sports because I either have to stop it and then watch 15 seconds of commercial or go a little longer and turn my head.

Re: Remote Control Fast Forward

Check the Wikibook to add the 30-second skip. Most commercials are about 30 seconds. A few presses can be more accurate than using FF.

Re: Remote Control Fast Forward

I use that 30 sec FF feature all the time since Comcast required all of us to deal with their stupid FF jump back.  Very annoying.  They should allow the user to turn that feature on/off in some DVR set-up area.

The 30 sec FF feature is great for watching football.  You can press that as soon as a play ends and almost always, the next play begins right away....that is when you're not watching the game LIVE (lol).
