Try unplugging the box, wait a few minutes, plug it back in and the box should reset and the guide should downloading.

We have had this for the past 2 days. Tech support had us go buy a signal amplifier for $45 which had it working for about an hour, then back to the same problem. Late last night they said there was a known problem in our area and it would be fixed by 3:54am. This morning the problem was still there and they said 10:23am, then they said 12:13pm. Now they say it is fixed and must be our house or cable box. We have exchanged the box three times already. They should give us a new one instead of one that looks like it has been thrown down a flight of stairs. If there was another service available in this area, I would DITCH Comcast right quick! I would never recommend them to anyone.

I feel your pain. Once it is fixed, I'd call them and try to get a credit on the bill for all of the aggravation they caused you.

Google Comcast Self Activation. After entering your Account Number and Phone, it will walk you through the steps for activation.

Well, they gave us a new one and it had activating problems. After at least 5 times of rebooting and activating, we are stuck at error SRM-8012 when we try anything on demand. All other channels work fine. No one seems to know what this error is and they say they need to send someone out for it, but not until Friday!

I've had this problem for weeks. Chatted, called, followed all the steps, had a technician out, had the issue escalated, had another technician out. It can't be fixed.

Not sure if you've seen this post about that error:
