I am a very frustrated customer.
WHY oh WHY has comcast manufactured a box that has a LED clock/channel display that is as bright as seven suns? I have a unit in my bedroom, and before the upgrade, was able to set a sleep timer that would cut off the box, when sleeping. or even better if i accidentally forgot to set the timer, it would DIM when it was inactive for a time.
but with this new box, not only is the display for the horrid thing so bright it keeps me awake, or prevents me from falling asleep when i wake up during the night, the stupid new router they have has a million blinking white lights on it, so if it wasnt for me hiding it behind books, it would look like a space ship was landing in my bedroom.
why oh why havent they realized that people have cable in bedrooms, and might actually want it to not be daylight in their rooms at night when trying to sleep.
PLEASE PLEASE either bring back the sleep functionality so i can cut off the glaringly bright light, or allow the lights to be dimmed.
unless im missing something....? HELP. seriously i shouldnt have to get electrical tape to fall back asleep in a dark room - doesnt FIOS have a dimmer and sleep function? *hint hint*

fios doesnt have a dimmer or sleep function. Try putting some scotch magic tape over the light to dim it.

i wish the solution was a bit more civilized than putting a piece of tape over it - since the boxes USED to have dimmers and sleep functions.
what gives? why did they get rid of it? BRING IT BACK.
