I had posted a screed last night about how I was missing HD ABC and NBC from cablecard and how useless Comcast technical support had been at resolving the issue.  It was still there mid-morning with some 80-odd views or so and now....poof, it's gone (just like my ABC and NBC).  Fortunately, I had posted it in the Channels section and Mr. Eagle had moved it last night to the Hardware section, no worries there.  But the original posting with the forwarding link is still back there in Hardware and if you open the Hardware posting and click on the forwarding link, you get a big DENIED message...

So what's up with that Comcast or are you just gonna delete this one too?

And when are you gonna fix my service that I'm paying for?

I also get the denied access when I try the moved link in the channels forum.  Comcast is not know for their computer knowledge!

Just got off the phone with a nice, polite but ultimately rather useless tech.  Still no HD ABC or NBC but phortunately the Phils are on 235 so I can get some work done AND watch the Phils tonight.  I have (you guessed it) a tech visit scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 AM.  I get to cost Comcast, NOT have to leave work early for a (predictably) useless support visit and, hopefully, time-and-a-half for the hapless tech.  Win win.

Until Comcast figures this out I am determined to be as expensive a customer as I can be.....and continue my policy of shelling out 44 cents every month to send an expensive-to-process paper check.

Fascinating, HD NBC and ABC ARE working at the moment.

Perhaps being the squeaky wheel pays off, but frankly we'll see if there's any longevity to this.

Well, irony abounds.

As I still had HD ABC and NBC this morning, later in the day at work I cancelled my Saturday appointment.  I come home to find out that not only was Mighty Joe Blanton lifted in in less than 6 innings after giving up a bunch of runs, but that THIS is what I see when trying to tune channel 231, better known as ABC.

This could be caused by a weak signal, which can affect only certain channels. Check the connections, especially the incoming coax, and eliminate any unnecessary splitters.

It also may be a weak signal caused by problems outside your house, in which case the tech should be able to determine the reason.

I had a Sunday visit from Tech Support and everything seemed to check out with the Ceton, the cable card and the connection.  The tech had his HQ person on the phone for most of the time and from what he said, they pretty much tore out my account by the roots and redid.

And the cablecard is working fine now.  I get every channel I'm supposed to get.

But then I went back to the living room to watch the rest of the 500....on ABC...in HD.  And it WAS still on I hadn't turned it off when the tech showed up), but the instant I tuned away and then tried to go back....pfft, no more HD ABC (or NBC) on the STB now.....

When I called it in they said they couldn't reach the box remotely, so now I'm trekking to Pottstown on Tuesday for a new Set Top Box.

It wasn't deleted by Comcast, it was deleted by one of the customer volunteers. I think it was probably accidental. He wrote that he was moving it to this forum, but he actually moved it to the Removed Posts forum, which regular users can't access, of course.  I suspect he just clicked on the wrong forum when he was doing it.
