I have the silver remote with the red ok/select button.
For some unknown reason, the "cable" button has decided it needs to flash three times between every single button push. It's extremely annoying when trying to change channels. I thought maybe if I reprogrammed the cable button to the cable box it might solve the problem, but alas, no.
Sometimes a red flashing button indicates the batteries need to be replaced. At least that what it was the last time I had the flashing red button. Worth a try to install new batteries.
