i recently bought a rca 61" hdlp tv to upgrade from my 32" philips tv...after switching the tv's i now get an intermitten tin-ish sound comming only thru the cable box, but not if i use the off air antenna or my dvd player!!

I've even went from the rf connector to direct inputs but still get this distorted audio.....any idea's???? i have even adjusted the audio output in the cablebox to medium and the tv to medium as well thinking the the two amps could be overdriving each other.....but no change in this intermitten distortion, this is a newer cablebox the I just recently got exchanged becuase my on-demand was not working correctly.....plus, my secondary box in my bedroom i switched thinking it was just my cablebox but got the same results......is there an incompatablity with the boxes and the rca selenium tv series???

How is the box hooked up to the TV (kind of connection) and what Model/Make is it, if you have an option to put out optimal stereo in the box setup try that.   We'll see if we can help, but based on all the previous Comcastp, it wouldn;t surprise me if the box is shot already.

I have tried both rf (into the cable rf) and direct a/v cables going into the set, mind you the antenna rf connector hooked up to a set of rabbit ears for high def....is working fine.....as is the dvd player plugged into the tv with a/v cables....

and as i had mentioned in the beginning, i swapped out my comcast box in my living room with the identical box from my bedroom with the same results.....this unit is an rca selenium hd61wlp164 unit with the builtin smart card slot...i'm wondering if it is simply a case of incompadibilty of the digital comcast box with this tv?

if i hook the comcast raw cable from the wall into the cable rf input it goes out and finds like 208 channels in both analog and digital channels (although,most of the digital channels are empty subcarriers channels with no info to them) but there is no sound issue .....problem is losing out on all the extended digital channels with the box
