can a hd dvr work with a regular tv that doesnt have hd tv? if my hd dvr doesnt show a signal on the tv does that mean its not plugged in right or it doesnt work on my tv?

i have the power plug plugged to the electrical outlet and the coak able plugged into the dvr and the hdmi hooked up to the dvr and tv

Have you selected the correct HDMI input on your TV? I am puzzeled as to what non HD TV has HDMI inputs?
