I have switched from the older cable box to new xfinity box. the older box had cable in and cable out and I can able to attach a vcr to record programs coming over the cable. the new xfinity box has only the one cable in. Now I am told that I can not get back the older so I can attach a vcr for recording programs coming from the cable. Any solution??

You would use a composite video cable which is one with yellow for video and red / white for audio.
Connect the yellow/red/white to the matching ports on the back of the cable box, and the other end into the video input on the back of the VCR. You would then select the video input on the VCR to receive the video signal from the cable box instead of the old way of having it on channel 3 or 4.
If you post the model of the cable box, then a diagram can be posted.
