Check the video input selection on the TV as that indicates the TV is not getting the signal from the cable box. If the cable box is connected to the TV on video1, make sure the TV has video 1 selected, or choose the input that the cable box is connected to.
Check that the cable box is on and that the cable from the box to the TV is connected firmly. Try and unplug the AC power for two minutes, then power up the cable box again.
Again, this indicates the TV is either not on the right video input, or there is a disconnection between the cable box and the TV's video input.
